5. Enjoy a fireplace or fire pit. There are plenty of restaurants and locales around town that feature fireplaces and fire pits. Seek one out, pull up a comfy chair and hang out by the fire!

7 Flagstaff Hikes You Will Love

1. Old Caves Crater. You can see the San Francisco Peaks from the top of this trail. It only takes a few hours to hike; perfect for when you do not want to spend all day hiking.

2. Veit Springs Trail/Lamar Haines Loop. At only 1.5 miles long, you can take the whole family on this trail. Along the way, you can take a look at an abandoned cabin built in 1892.

3. Campbell Mesa Trail System. The Campbell Mesa Trail System features a number of different hikes. You can find something that fits your desired difficulty level and the time you have available to explore.

4. Keyhole Sink Trail. The Keyhole Sink Trail is relatively easy to do, and the reward at the end is worth the effort—you can view images created by artisans approximately 1,000 years ago.

5. Fat Man’s Loop. The Fat Man’s Loop trail is an easy hike that can be done in a few hours. The view of Flagstaff is great, and you can also see some cool rock formations that demonstrate the volcanic activity that created Mt. Elden.

6. Sandy’s Canyon Trail. The Sandy’s Canyon Trail is close to Flagstaff, making it a popular choice for hikers who want to get into nature without a long drive.

7. Bismarck Lake Trail. You can take a short 1.5-mile hike up the Bismarck Lake Trail and turn around, or you can continue on to the Arizona National Scenic Trail.
